Welcome to Science MIA!

If you’ve ever wondered about any of the strange things that happen in our world, from ‘Why does my singing sound so much better in the shower?’ to ‘What is the real difference between all the types of fuel?’ then this is the site for you!

If you have only a mild knowledge of or interest in science, never fear! Science MIA is here to answer these sort of questions and any others you might have, hopefully in a simple and (at least mildly) entertaining way!

About the Author

Brisbane born and bred, I’ve spent the last few years of my life working for the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service as a communications ranger and finishing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Wildlife Science. At the start of 2011 I moved to Canberra to start a Graduate Diploma in Science Communication.

I love to travel, play music, dance like no-one’s watching and laugh so hard that no sound comes out. I’m highly accident-prone, over enthusiastic about lots of things and flick my hair to much. Most of all I love science, and I love when other people get to find out how amazing it is too!

I’m so disappointed your last entry was in 2011. I really wish you would continue writing about scientific stuff. I loved your posts. Hopefully you’ll see this and continue writing.
